It’s true, insurance may be able to replace them. But suppose you had irreplaceable data on these devices. You might want to get that back. Fear not! It’s possible! All it takes is some cotton swabs, a hairdryer, some rice, and a lot of alcohol. (Isopropyl, of course. Not the drinking kind.) <\/p>\n
Keep safety in mind first. Turn off the device, unplug it, and\/or remove the batteries. Remove anything connected to the device. Large electronics may need to be rinsed with clean water to remove sediments. If you see anything green and\/or crusty, that’s corrosion. It can be cleaned off with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Shake out as much water as you can.<\/p>\n
A hairdryer in a cool setting may help dry things out. Do not overheat your electronics. If it is something small like a phone or tablet, submerging it for two days in an airtight container of rice may help. A soft cloth can wipe away excess moisture. Once everything is dry, try turning the device back on. You may have to charge it up first. If it doesn’t work, you may have to take it to a professional. <\/p>\n
